Want to know what life is like at PM Training?
Here’s our step-by-step guide to your learning and progression onto an apprenticeship.
"My dad started this organisation over 30 years ago and we have helped thousands of young people over the years, we want you to know you are in good hands with experienced members of staff to help support you on your apprenticeship journey. Embrace the experience and have fun! "
Hungry? Not a problem! Help yourself to cereal and yoghurts in the morning. We do charge for toast, but at the bargain rate of 10p per slice for learners.
With support from Realise charity, we will get you sorted with your own toolkit to help you on your way.
Do you know someone else who wants to start their apprenticeship journey? Earn £100 and refer your friend! *Subject to terms and conditions.
Do you have an interview coming up and need help with what to wear? We can provide you with a clothing allowance.
You will need a CSCS card to go on-site with an employer. You will need to be tested for your CSCS card but we will provide this for you free of charge.
We have our very own 'Learner Voice' group who voice your opinions and suggestions on how we can make your experience with us the best it can be!
Following your application, you’ll be invited into the PM Training centre for an interview. If successful, you’ll be offered a start date, and you’ll move on to the next step with us.
Don't worry about you're interview, we're really friendly and we just want to get to know you and see what your interests are.
If we don’t offer you a start, we’ll give you the very best advice and guidance. You can also attend one of our taster-days to gain more experience, ask us for more details.
For construction:

Following an induction week, which will tell you everything you’re going to be doing with us over the following months, you’ll be given three weeks of ‘tasters’. Your tasters will give you the opportunity to experience different aspects of the type of apprenticeship you’re pursuing. The construction ‘tasters’ will take place in the PM Training workshops.
For an office-based journey:
You will have an introduction week.
You’ll take part in fun team-building activities and enrichment alongside an introduction to the Officeworks programme.
Plus! You’ll be given:
On your construction journey:
6 weeks to 12 months working with the PM Training Homeworks team, as a team member on one of our vans. You’ll gain workplace skills where you’ll learn a variety of trades from gardening, painting and decorating, fencing, carpet fitting and house clearances. Plus you’ll receive additional learning sessions:
On your office-based journey:
12 weeks within our training environment with additional learning sessions:
Your construction work trial:
Your work trial will usually be for 4 – 6 weeks.
Your office-based work trial:
Your work trial will usually be for 6 - 12 weeks.
Once your work trial has been successfully completed, you’ll be ready to take the final step of your journey, to take up an apprenticeship.
As with every step, we’ll be with you all the way and we’ll use our network of partner companies and organisations to ensure we find the right apprenticeship for you.
Your apprenticeship will allow you to get ahead in your career, putting you in a position where you have had valuable work experience and skills. Apprenticeships get you well placed for other full-time positions that become available in the organisation you work for and for other businesses. 8 out of 10 learners progress into work.
Did you know? You can even do degree-level apprenticeships. That means you can still earn a wage and not worry about the debt!
"I am so grateful for my apprenticeship as it's allowed me to be really well placed for a full-time position as a data administrator with PM Training. I am really enjoying my new job role and I hope my experiences will inspire other learners and people that they can still achieve career success even in their twenties. "
