So what can you expect from the conference?
10am – 11.00am – Aileen Evans – President of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and Chief Executive of Grand Union Housing Group
I am delighted to let you know that the current president of the CIH, Aileen Evans (http://www.cih.org/cihpresident), will be presenting her story and her initiative ‘Shine a light’ on mental health and wellbeing in housing. There will then be a chance for you to ask questions and discuss the issues of mental health and wellbeing with her.
11.00 – 12 noon - Jill Allcoat - Member services regional manager for the CIH
Jill and I have worked together on all manner of projects looking at careers and personal development in housing. Jill will be talking about the CIH, their role, what the CIH can offer to you as student members, in terms of mental health and wellbeing, but also all the myriad of services available to you that you might not be aware of by guiding you through the brand new CIH website. Jill will also let you know what opportunities there are for you to get involved in the CIH’s work.
12 noon – 12.15pm Grab your lunch ready to enjoy our ‘lunch and learn’ session with Patricia Harrington from Aspire Housing
12.15pm – 1pm Patricia Harrington from Aspire Housing
Trish will be explaining the value of resilience, health and wellbeing in housing and giving a leader’s perspective on the experience of running a busy supported housing team during lockdown and how the team contributed to resilience, health and wellbeing of customers. Trish will also be bringing to the session the concept of workplaces for the future and the work she is currently doing on developing post covid / post homeworking workspaces and their role in resilience.
1pm- 1.30pm Joanne Turley - Arc Consultancy
Finally the wonderful Jo Turley will be sharing practical tips on managing stress including developing an understanding of ‘circles of control’ and coping with change. Jo has vast experience in managing multiple demands and developing /coaching resilience and mental toughness.
1.30pm – 2pm Final discussion, final Q and A and next steps.
