Taylor Downing, 16, is working towards a business administration apprenticeship after only 3 months since joining PM Training.
Taylor has landed herself a business administration apprenticeship within PM Training. Working with the Officeworks team, she is helping learners gain valuable skills in areas such as business administration, customer service and IT. School leavers start by gaining skills and learning about different areas of work they are interested in and then progress to a work trial with a local employer and onto an apprenticeship. A typical journey on the Officeworks programme is between 6-12 weeks depending on qualifications and attitude to learning.
Taylor said: "I was originally going to study business and P.E at Newcastle College but my auntie found out about PM Training on Facebook and told me about their apprenticeships and study programmes.
After popping along to an open day I joined up in July 2017 and a month into the programme I was offered a work trial with Officeworks to get some work experience. I was offered an apprenticeship position in the October which I was really pleased about!
I do a variety of things including reception duties, paperwork filing, updating attendance, CRM admin and other general administration duties. I really enjoy it and the staff are really nice."
Taylor is now gaining valuable experience on the job whilst working towards her NVQ level 2 in business administration. She's joining hundreds of young people who each year gain essential skills to gain employment through our Officeworks programme. The programme develops understanding about the workplace, health and safety, core software applications and communications skills. After 3 months, young people are placed with a local employer on a work trial to ensure a perfect fit in their chosen career. Following a successful trial, learners start their apprenticeship journey. Follow in the footsteps of our apprentices and apply in under 60 seconds.
