CSCS card from the Construction Skills Certification Scheme is the leading competence card scheme for individuals working in construction, ensuring they are up-to-date and can demonstrate an agreed level of occupational competence. For individuals, having a CSCS card verifies your identity and shows employers that you have the required qualifications, training and experience to carry out your work on a construction site.
Whilst CSCS is not a legal requirement, more and more contractors are making the scheme mandatory for their construction sites.
Anyone working or visiting a construction site may be required by the client or contractor to show their CSCS card. It is important that you hold the right CSCS card for the type of work you undertake. If you do not have a card, or hold the wrong card, access to construction sites may be denied.
PM Training offer CPCS renewal tests for individuals needing to renew their CPCS competent operator (blue) card.
The CPCS renewal test is split into test modules – each module has 15 randomly selected multiple choice questions which need to be answered within 15 minutes.
Modules are CPCS plant specific and the questions are based on a range of topics and key knowledge expected of experienced plant operators and have been devised through consultation with plant-based employers and health and safety related data.
Cardholders will need to pass each module in order to retain each category when renewing their Competent Operator (Blue) Card.
Please note we are only able to provide the renewal test – individuals will need to complete and send off applications for the card themselves.
Many contractors and clients insist that all workers on site hold a CSCS card to show that their qualifications and training have been certified, are up-to-date and they have appropriate health and safety awareness.
Anyone working or visiting a construction site may be required by the client or contractor to show their CSCS card. Without a relevant CSCS card, access to construction sites may be denied.
To determine you are applying for the correct CSCS card – you can use the online CITB Card Finder to find which card is the right on for you and the the job that you do. This will also tell you the type of CITB Health, Safety and Environment test you will need to take.
